Helen Greene

Helen Greene

Helen’s artistic career has largely been spent in design and the textile industry but in the last few years she has had the opportunity to use her creative talent to follow her passion for sculpture. Her inspiration comes from nature and neo classism, creating harmonious and “ageless” work. The sculptures display perfect proportions and balance of composition and form, reflecting a learnt understanding of anatomy, being an alumnus of The Sculpture School.

Her love of horses is reflected in her equestrian sculptures which are tactile and expressive, capturing movement and creating inspiring sculptures for the home or garden.

Being sensitive to the spirituality of all creatures, she sculpts with empathy, inviting the viewer to relate and reflect. Helen aspires to show the “inner beauty within,” capturing the grace and nobility of her subject through her own interpretation and spontaneous response to working in clay or wax, resulting in “living” sculptures. Helen loves to finish her sculptures in stone and Verdigris patination’s reflecting her love of classical Greek and Roman Art and evoking an Age-old elegance and is excited to continue to develop her own unique style.

Helen’s work is shown in galleries and events, and she is happy to work on private commissions of animal or botanical sculptures.
