Jenny Baddeley

Jenny Baddeley has been working with clay for over 30 years; nowadays from her little blue studio in Horsley. She’s often inspired by the unspoiled views to create work that looks like something found in nature, but is a little other-worldly.

The Mare Incognitum series of spiky sculptures, intended to hang on the wall, reflect this practice. They may be sea urchins, fungi, or they’ve also been described as microbial or alien-like forms.

More recently, Jenny has been playing with humour rather than nature in her pieces; still creating things that are quite like reality, but aren’t.
