Rachel Demuth

Rachel Demuth is a ceramic artist with an MA in Fine Art (ceramics) from Bath Spa University (2024) and lives in Bath.  She works in nature, studying the Cotswold landscape; her latest project was on Ash dieback and how to raise awareness of this tree disease through the medium of clay. She creates sculptural forms and monuments that honour the Ash trees.  Her work is hand-built, making large sculptures and smaller vessels; each piece is unique. Some are crafted from coarse black stoneware and delicate porcelain, while others are glazed with wood ash glazes or left raw to disintegrate and return to the earth naturally.
