Kate McMahon-Parkes

Having worked in healthcare and education for many years, more recently, I have made a career change to follow my longstanding interest in the visual arts. I am currently undertaking a Masters in Fine Art at Bath Spa University.

My practice is mainly sculptural, working in a variety of materials, including glass, wood, stone and mixed media.

I am often inspired by ecology and walking, and frequently consider the impact that humankind is having on the natural world.

My work is varied, and includes tiny cast glass artifacts, wood and stone pieces designed to be situated in outside spaces, collaborative community projects, conceptual art and large scale commissions.
