There, I immersed myself in the city’s magic, learning Italian and honing my skills in life drawing. The city’s enchanting light, its labyrinthine waterways, and the vibrant spirit of the people all deeply influenced my creative expression. I even delved into the art of traditional Venetian mask-making, performing Commedia dell ‘Arte at an acting school and eventually joining a local company.
Returning to London, I channeled my passion for mask-making into a thriving shop in Camden Lock, where | created unique pieces for various projects.
My work graced the set of Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut, Michael Palin’s Hemingway’s Travels, and numerous theatrical productions.
Moving to Bath reignited my love for painting and introduced me to the captivating world of stone carving. The challenge of transforming a raw block of stone into a work of art, carefully revealing the sculpture hidden within, proved incredibly rewarding. I also enjoy creating hollow, built sculptures in clay, exploring the interplay of form and space.
Since joining the Cotswold Sculptors Association in 2018, I have continued to evolve my artistic practice.
While I’m drawn to the expressive power of sculpted heads and taces, I’ve recently embarked on a new chapter, crafting human figures using a combination of clay, wirework, and resin.
