Bea Green

Bea’s Environmentally themed ceramic sculptures draw inspiration from gardening observations & her love of Natures natural forms.

Recently returned to Devon, she became increasingly concerned by “climate changes ” reducing our DAYLIGHT LEVELS.

Initially interpreted in 12 oil paintings illustrating this problem. These works inspired 5 colourful ceramic sculptures, “the Messengers”.

Her latest  series of sculptural heads are smaller and make you look twice! “The Enlighteners” who  spread “consideration for other people”.

She  developed her own wide range of Engobe colours that can be mixed and fired at stoneware temperatures suitable for life out or indoors. She has used them extensively throughout the years, eg. in mural work.

Bea studied Ceramics and Painting to degree level.  Her work is owned in private and public sites across Europe, eg. in the Cultural Centre Kortenberg near Brussels and in Japan’s Tajimi Museum. She has had articles published, including in Ceramic Review and contributed to Anne Lightwoods book on Paperclay.
